Judy Kong is a multimedia artist, born in Hong Kong and based in Melbourne, Australia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (RMIT University). She works with video, installations, sound, painting, and poetry.
She draws inspiration from authentic affects and bodily experience, obsessed with lightness, darkness, and color. Judy’s work is shaped by affective landscape and subjective experience, and creates an inner space between poetic and conceptual that evokes feelings, emotions, and spiritual experience. She engages with subjects such as authenticity, self-immanence, cultural values, and psychology through an empathic lens.
Her work seeks to find common ground in artistic experiences by inviting people to perceive a space and resonate affectively. Judy had her solo exhibition in Australia at First Site Gallery, Melbourne. She has also exhibited at institutions, including the Hong Kong Arts Centre and Trocadero Project Melbourne.
